Mike died after a lengthy illness. Mike became a national Putt Putt champion right out of AHHS in 1973. He has the all time record for the most prize money won by any pro in the association over his career.
I remember Mike in our freshman year as someone with a great sense of humour and a sweet spirit. I am praying for comfort for his family and those close to him.
Mike, I and friends used to play stickball in his front yard(and neighbors yards). I never new he was an avid put-put guy. He was a good friend! Sending my sincere condolence to his family and loved ones.
I played putt tournaments with Mike and we placed 2nd in the 2 man city championship (I don't recall the year) I am sure it was before High School. I had not seen him in years but just last week I thought about that and I wished I had visited with him again He was always a nice quiet guy.
His Dad was the El Fenix restaurant on Camp Bowie for a few years

Mike was so pleasant and easy. When he won the big national putt championship with the big $50k prize, he was so modest about it.
