Patrick Knight, 59, went to be with his God on Sunday, July 20, 2014. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Memorial Park. He will be in state 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood. His family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family has given the option to donate to help support their son, Taylor, through the Knight Continuing Education Fund. Please contact family for details. Pat was born June 10, 1955, in Kingston, N.Y. He attended Fort Worth public schools and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1973. Later while working full time, he attended and graduated cum laude from Colorado Technical University with a bachelor of science in business administration management. Pat enjoyed a busy life serving others by becoming a paramedic in emergency medical services. He started his service at Ray Crowder in the mid-1970s and then continued working with Mid-Cities EMS where he remained until 1987. Following Mid-Cities, he continued his calling and went to work for MedStar as operations manager. In 2000 he went to Arlington EMS where he continued to work as operations manager until 2006. In late 2006 he went to work for Cook Children's Medical Center providing medical services to children. At the time of his death he was working for the state of Texas. Pat loved EMS, the people he worked with and the community he served. Those who knew him could recognize him through his distinctive laugh. Although no longer with us, his laugh will continue through our memories.
