In town and checked in...let the fun begin!

Claudia, there will not be any mini-skirt on me.

Hail to "da King"....that is King Coleman!

Kathy Graham (Kyles)

To all you golfers: I wish I could be there to play, even though I'm a high handicap....no sandbagging here, it's the truth! Just remember what Harvey Penick said:

Rather than worry, be mindful of the shot at hand and go ahead and play it as if you are going to hit the best shot of your life. You really might do it

Best of luck and above all, have fun!

Greetings Everyone. A big thanks to all of you on the committee for putting this together. Great job!

Look forward to seeing everyone and catching up.

Time flies and it's flying faster...

Jim

Mike, Got space for another golfer? It's been approx 14,600 days since graduation and my leaving Ft.Worth. It will be fun to start the weekend with a golf outing.

Traynor, I too grew up playing the "Hawks Creek" course. I don't  rightly recall underscoring you back then( I will attribute that to my college days). I am looking forward to seeing everyone.

Kathy, after reading your post of encouragement and sage quote from Harvey, I'm sure to break 100. Sure wish you could come! But you'd never want paint a golf scene again after watching me butcher a course.

Merkel is in. Anyone else want to play? Going once... Let me know ASAP.

Houston, maybe you could post before & after photos of the course on your FB page and I could paint both! Might make an interesting study!

I talked to King Coleman yesterday and we decided to eat at Drew's in Como after golf. Anybody else that wants to come is welcomed to join. We should be getting there around 1:30. Its on the west side of Horne about 3 blocks south of Camp Bowie. Post something here if you plan to come. If it is a big crowd, I'll call Drew and warn him. Drew's is Willie Thomas' little brother's place. I called Willie and he is going to try to join us. Willie can't make the reunion because they have a family gathering every Father's Day weekend. Drew went by Andy as a freshman at Heights when we were seniors. The food is the best home cooking you'll ever eat.

Kathy, I will take photos of golf.

Mike,  I sent your picture to a digital periodontist and they were able to remove the 40 year old piece of spinach.  I think it had fossilized!  They had to put a veneer on it!  Eunice

I also sent Houston's mole on his lip to a digital plastic surgeon and he was able to remove it.  Sorry but we have already printed the nametags...spinach, mole and all!

Mark Fowlkes

Houston,

1:30 at Drew's may be a little optimistic since I am teeing off in the first group.  Mike, you may want to bring something to read.

Houston,

You know I'm in for lunch at Drew's!

Casey

Yes Mark Fowlkes, you are the slowest golfer I've ever known, including Pumphrey. Warning to the guys in Mark's group: he'll stand over a shot so long you'd swear he was a statue of a golfer. Just try to keep the pidgeons off of him.

Bill Davis

I'm going to bring my dog's shock collar for Fowlkes in case he needs any encouragement....

Mike Coleman

I am going to go ahead and issue a slow play warning to Fowlkes and put him on the clock ? now. That will save me the effort later. Pick it up, Fowlkes!

Houston - count me in for Drews. Would like us to have a drink at Hawks before we head over. I also told Ricky we would be at Drew's about 1:30.

Thanks Mike for setting up the golf outing this morning. I had a great time. It was a lotta fun seeing all the guys and playing with the group of guys. You did a great job.

Kim Michele Mummert

A.C. and I are here and I am dying to know the outcome of the golf outing - or do we have to wait? Can't wait to see everyone tonight!  Michele

Casey Sanford

Michele,

I'm sure that you will hear all about the Golf Tourney tonight, but just because you asked, I'll give you a preview...Don Traylor's Team KICKED BUTT!!!!

Humbly,

Casey

06/14/13 06:12 PM #101

Mike Coleman

Here is the final golf report.

Traylor’s Railers  - WINNERS

Don Traylor, Casey Sanford, John Duban, Bart Pelton

Score 64

Team probably won because entire team stayed out of the sun by getting in the shade from Casey’s golf sombrero. They played well despite the fact that Duban had to limit his swing because his club kept hitting his cigar and Pelton would alternate good and bad shots. Traylor hit lots and lots of good shots…

The Slow Fowlkes - 2nd Place

Bill Davis, Mark Fowlkes, Bill Gartner, Rick Merkel

Score 65

Almost disqualified due to Merkel’s use of illegal equipment and high tech golf shoes not affordable to most Jacket retirees on the competing teams. Watching Fowlkes play golf was like watching mud dry but his pace of play of play was kept at a tolerable level through the effective use of Bill Davis' shock collar….

Team Huey3rd Place

Houston Kauffman, Buddy Sample, Dennis Griffin, Cliff Smith

Score 67

Steady Eddies but Middle of the pack….

The Zingers - BRINGING UP THE REAR

Steve Thompson, Marc Monzingo, Jerry Heit, Jim Buckley

Score 69

Thompson tried to lay the blame on Coleman for this team finishing dead last, but we know it was Thompson holding them back. Coleman played with this group for a while but got away as quickly as he could.

A great time was had by all!

King Coleman
