The only things sweeter than the Lemon Drop Martinis that we had after dinner were the three ladies that Nick and I were lucky enough to get to spend the evening with.

Hello All. Want all of you to know I had a great time at the reunion. It was fun to see everybody again. Thank all of you on The Committee who worked so hard to make it happen. You did an amazing job. Maybe we wont have to wait 10 years till the next reunion.

I think we should do something quarterly... Lunch, dinner, whatever, wherever.

We are planning the first "Happy Hour" get together for Sept. 12th. Just happens to also be Houston's birthday. Put it on your calendars and more info will follow.

I really like all the vacation pictures posted on Facebook, and the AHHS website. I am so glad people are taking nice vacations. My brother,Sammy and I are going to Scotland at the end of August. It is his first time overseas. We will go to Edinburgh for 2 days, Glasgow for two days, and St. Andrews for 2 days. He will play golf, and I will go to art museums, ect. Then we will take a train to Keith, Scotland for 2 days, and then take the train to London for 3 days. We are really looking forward to it.

Jacket Hack It! Update - a new winner has been declared as the previous winning team - Traylor's Railers (Traylor, Duban, Pelton, and Sanford) was penalized two strokes for gloating (penalty assessed on Casey Sanford - see picture w Ginny Sanders for proof positive). Slow Fowlkes declared winners of first annual Jacket Hack It! Invitational.

Mike,

No gloat intended...just expressing how lucky I am to be a member of Traylor's Railers and the AHHS Class of '73.  And I should have included your name with the team because I think we used one or two of your shots in our triumphant quest for glory!  And Mark isn't "slow", he is "speedy-play challenged".

Are you challenging the King's ruling?????

Is that allowed?

Bill Davis

The Rulings of the King are Final ... especially the ones declaring my team the Winners !!!

I just read in the Fort Worth Star Telegram that Martha Melton passed away.  I had her for English and really enjoyed her class.  I thought some of you might remember her.  She was a vary sweet lady.

Thanks for sharing this Eunice. She was a tough but great English teacher!

Mrs. Melton? I thought she had already passed. She was my favorite teacher and was always nice to me. She was responsible for Impressions, the literary magazine she started in 1971 and sponsored through her Creative Writing class that was offered as an elective our senior year at Heights. Bill Davis and Margaret Gregory were co-editors for Impressions 1973. What day was it listed in the Star Telegram? When and where is her funeral? I would love to attend.

She was special.

Welch: thanks for reminding us about Impressions and Bill and Margaret's contribution.

Thank you for the information. I never knew Mrs Melton was an only child and never had any children except her students from 35 years of teaching in the FWISD. May she rest in peace.

Mike Coleman has a 9:30 tee time at Hawks Creek on Sep 13th (I'd say Fri the 13th, but don't feel that is appropriate for the superstitious), does anyone want to join us? We need two more. Houston is looking into setting something up either Wed or Thurs. See you at the Happy Hour! Don Traylor

There is a group on facebook called Burton Hill Group, many people sharing memories that are flooding back. Hope to get some more 73's on there.

Idea for next tag up: Homecoming!!

Might even be cool enough by then to be football weather. Maybe even go get a pizza afterwards.

Only my suggestion, Eunice, run with it. Regrets, I'm already committed to be in Zwolle that day.
